FFmpeg

This software uses FFmpeg, licensed under the LGPL version 2.1 or later.

Sotto Carve carries one build of FFmpeg 9.0.2, unmodified: the ffmpeg and ffprobe programs and the FFmpeg libraries they and PyAV use. Sotto did not change it, and does not claim to own FFmpeg. FFmpeg is a trademark of Fabrice Bellard, originator of the FFmpeg project.

• Built without --enable-gpl, --enable-nonfree and --enable-version3, as shared libraries, with Apple's VideoToolbox and AudioToolbox.
• No GPL or nonfree flag; no x264, x265 or LAME.

The script that builds it is build-ffmpeg.sh. Run build-ffmpeg.sh build ffmpeg-9.0.2.tar.xz <folder> to make the same libraries and programs. The script, the configure line (BUILD-INFO.txt) and the source are in the Open-Source Licences folder, in the Sotto Carve menu.

• Sotto Carve can use an FFmpeg you built yourself: set SOTTO_FFMPEG_DIR to the folder build-ffmpeg.sh made (it holds bin and lib) and Sotto runs that ffmpeg and ffprobe instead.
